CCA on a New Path Forward

Child Care Answers
August 27, 2021

We grow with you.

Since 1985, Child Care Answers has been a go-to resource for all things child care: an advisor, a collaborator, a guide, and—most importantly—a hand to hold. Our goal is to create seamless experiences for you, working together to minimize any unnecessary hoops. We want our families to find trusted care and quality information about their child’s development. We want child care programs to have the resources and tools they need to start their own professional care and expand their existing programs. We want our community partners to have access to a platform that amplifies their own work and creates awareness around our shared vision. Why? Because we want the absolute best for our children.

Introducing: Child Care Answers of Central Indiana

To broaden our impact, we know we therefore need to invite more people into the conversation. Accordingly, we plan to expand beyond early childhood and implement strategies targeted to Central Indiana families. Because of this, July 3 began our journey operating as an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization —one that is nimble, innovative, and wholly accessible.

We are grateful for the many partners who have inspired change over the past thirty-five years. These allies have helped us to best serve our families, child care progams, and partners at the local level. We are excited to continue our collaboration with our partners who serve all Hoosiers, including Early Learning Indiana and the Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning. Similarly, we will continue our work with agencies in other corners of Indiana through the Child Care Resource & Referral Network.

We are also excited about what this means for our mission delivery.

Child care is bigger than immediate providers and families, and our work must expand to reflect this. It’s about helping businesses better understand the child care needs of their employees and working with policy makers to  educate. It’s about agencies collaborating with one another and communities working together to streamline resources.

As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child. Working together is how we will make the essential accessible to all.

Website

Now that we are a fully-independent 501(c)3 non-profit, our website and email address are now at childcareanswers.org. Please take the time to explore our newly redesigned website.

What’s Not Changing

One thing that is not changing – and will never change – is our commitment to Central Indiana families, child care professionals, employers, and community partners. Above all, our team is still focused on offering all of the same free services you know and trust us to provide. We will continue to:

  • Help families find trusted care and quality information about their child’s development
  • Direct child care programs to resources and tools they need to start their own professional care and/or expand their existing programs.
  • Provide access to our community partners to a platform that amplifies their own work and creates awareness around our shared vision.
  • Help employers better understand the child care needs of their employees and work with policy makers to advocate and educate.

Why? Because we want the absolute best for our children.
