It is important that professionals working with young children understand that the parents/guardians of the child are their first educator. It is important to understand and embrace diverse family structures. Professionals will leave with knowledge of the importance of considering family goals and traditions when planning learning environments and curriculum. We will also discuss being respectful of families and their cultural/lifestyle practices.
