Health and Safety Day 3 of 4- 2.5 hrs (INHS)

  • Safe Sleeping Practices and Reducing the Risk of SIDS in Child Care »

This training will focus on vaccinations and medications. Discussing how vaccinations work and why it is important to immunize children and adults. Providers will discuss current medication storage and distribution practices. Physical activity and infection disease are other areas of health for children that will be discussed in this training. Implement strategies to stop the spread of infectious diseases including immunizations. Describe the relationship between a developmental stage and risk of injury. Implement procedures for storing medication and hazardous materials. This training meets the Health and Safety orientation training requirements for topic areas: 1. Prevention and Control of Infectious disease (including immunizations) 2. Administration of medication consistent with standards for parental consent 6. Handling and storage of hazardous materials and appropriate disposal of bio-contaminants10. First Aid and CPR Overview
