Tantrums vs. Meltdowns: What is the difference and how can we help support our children?

Wednesday, February 7, 2018 @ 6:15 pm - 8:30 pm

  • « Health and Safety Day 2 of 4- 2.5 hrs (INHS)
  • Spanish Introduction to the Foundations »

Many people think the words tantrum and meltdown are synonymous. They often look very similar when children are upset. But for children who have sensory processing issues or who lack self-regulation skills, a meltdown is very different from a tantrum. Knowing the differences can help you learn how to respond in a way that better supports your child. We will be discussing how to promote positive interactions with children, while helping promote personal and social development. We will be able to demonstrate an understanding between tantrum and meltdown and how to support the children when they happen.
