Last Day Q&A

Last Day Q&A: Jamie Le Sesne Spears

Child Care Answers
January 31, 2022

This month, we celebrate Jamie’s one-year work anniversary with CCA. She has brought so much to the team and has been able to help so many families in her work as our family engagement specialist.

What three traits define you?

Loyal, caring, thoughtful

What is your personal philosophy?

Grace on grace.

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?

My husband, Cory. We have been through so much together, and he continues to be my best friend through it all.

What is the greatest challenge you have had to overcome in your life thus far?

The passing of our son, Reid, has had a tremendous impact in our life. Grief isn’t something one can just overcome – it comes in waves. I continue to work through my grief as we celebrate and remember his life.

What is the one thing you cannot resist?

Dark chocolate or pie! I love a good pie.

What is your greatest fear?

I am probably the easiest person to scare! Anything can make me jump if it is unexpected.

Where is your favorite place to be?

I love to walk the beach by any ocean!

What is your favorite thing to do?

Play with my daughter, Freya. She is at such a fun age and is experiencing everything for the first time!

Where is the best place you’ve traveled and why?

My favorite country I have traveled to was New Zealand. I had the privilege to student teach for a couple of months in Auckland. Every weekend, I was able to travel! It is a stunningly beautiful country.

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?

I used to work at an antique mall in high school. You never knew what you were going to find there!

Which one would you want most – flying cars, robot housekeepers, or moon cities?

With an infant at home, I definitely choose a robot housekeeper. Can it change diapers?!

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?

Something with design! I love creating and spend my free time redecorating and reorganizing my home.

What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?

You are enough.

What are your three words or phrases you overuse the most?

100%, geeze louise, sorry

What is the best book you have ever read?

My favorite book is a children’s book – On the Night you Were Born by Nancy Tillman. We read it to our son in the NICU almost every day of his little life.

Tell us something that might surprise us about you.

I love my pets! I have a puggle (Penny Lane), two cats (Evey & Gatsby), and a hedgehog (Hamish). They are all pretty spoiled. One of my favorite things to do is to watch Netflix with puggle in my lap and a glass of wine at hand!
