General Last Day Q&A

Last Day Q&A: Lane Heaney

Child Care Answers
February 28, 2022

Lane Heaney is the glue that holds CCA together, through her work in HR, payroll, budgeting, and anything needed to keep us running smoothly as a team. Learn more about Lane below!

What three traits define you?

Trustworthy, loyal, fair

What is your personal philosophy?

Don’t ask others to do anything you wouldn’t do yourself.

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?

The right answer is my family, but, if I’m honest, they couldn’t live with me if I didn’t have coffee!

What is the greatest challenge you have had to overcome in your life thus far?

To not step in and help someone before they’ve had a chance to try and solve things on their own and then ask for help. This is something I have to consistently remind myself.

What is the one thing you cannot resist?

I love baked goods! Brownies, cupcakes, muffins, cookies….

What is your greatest fear?

I don’t like small spaces. It makes my heart race and my palms sweat just thinking about them!

Where is your favorite place to be?

I enjoy quite places, so my favorite spots tend to be those that aren’t crowded; hiking trails, museums, and the beach are my top three.

What is your favorite thing to do?

I love to spend time with my whole family. With so many different schedules it’s hard to get us all together, so it’s pretty special when we can.

Where is the best place you’ve traveled and why?

I loved Ireland. The landscape is breathtaking, and the people are so friendly!

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?

I worked at McDonalds when I was in high school and was in charge of planning and hosting the birthday parties. I loved their cakes and was really sad when they stopped making those.

Which one would you want most – flying cars, robot housekeepers, or moon cities?

Robot housekeeper for sure!

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?

I love working with families, so I’d probably go back and work as a family assistant.

What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?

Ask those questions! You’re not the only one who is wondering the same thing, and they’ll be glad you asked.

What are your three words or phrases you overuse the most?

“Perfect”, “I’m sorry”, and “also”

What is the best book you have ever read?

Jan Brett’s The Mitten. It’s such a sweet story and the illustrations are wonderful.

Tell us something that might surprise us about you.

I went parasailing once and loved it! 10/10 would do it again!
