As nonprofit professionals, staff here at CCA wear many hats that often aren’t reflected in our job titles. Read more about some of these under-the-radar talents and skills!
Allie, Program Resource Navigator
Looking at my job title, others might not think of all the data I do. When it comes to anecdotes and information shared by providers, it’s hard to put that into numbers and make it quantitative. However, that has been a big part of my role coming into the program resource navigator role. I love to look through our data reports to figure out how we can share a story with the numbers we are collecting! Spreadsheets are my go-to for everything, and you’ll soon find out I LOVE a color-coded system.
Sarah, Community Engagement Specialist
As a community engagement specialist, it probably isn’t surprising that many of my duties fall under the ever elusive category of “other duties as assigned.” Some days, I’m helping the office brush up on Politics and Government 101; other days, I’m creating data sheets that (fingers crossed) make things clearer for our state and local policymakers. And of course, I often find myself in the role of unofficial office therapist – whether someone needs to vent, process, or figure out how to share not-so-great news in the kindest way possible. Every day looks a little different, and that variety is exactly what makes me love this role.
Lauren, Family Engagement Specialist
People might be surprised to learn that I was Kristin’s right-hand woman during CCA’s rebrand. I designed the Family Resource Center on our website, built out both print and digital collateral in Canva and WordPress, and still jump in regularly to support web content, layout, and user experience. Marketing may not be in my title, but it’s definitely in my toolbox.
Lane, HR Manager
People might be surprised to know that I am also the Accounting department. So, when you email CCA’s accounting, it’s really just me! I’ll add that I also try and act as Mollie’s executive assistant. She’s a tough one to stay ahead of, but I do my best – bless my heart! (This one is so secret that I’m not sure Mollie knows.)
Kristin, Communications Manager
Not only do I lead external and internal communications at CCA, but my communications title is so wide-reaching that it also applies to interpersonal (and sometimes INTRApersonal) communication! Here’s why. I am proud to shepherd the team’s journey with the Enneagram, which allows us to better understand ourselves, our teammates, and how to best build strong relationships with others. (I identify as a self-preservation three, if you’re wondering!)
Anne, Program Resource Manager
People might not know that I am always willing to do serious down-the-rabbit-hole research on almost any topic!
Jamie, Family Engagement Specialist
Creating content is my not-so-secret superpower. Need a newsletter, short-form video, blog post, or family-friendly resource? I’ve got you. I’m basically your go-to creative sidekick!
Eunice, Multicultural Community Engagement Specialist
Would people be surprised to learn that I frequently translate documents and provide interpretation support for Haitian Creole and Spanish speakers? I don’t think so, but I do love it! It allows me to help ensure accessibility and clear communication for the families in the different communities we serve.
Rosy, Multicultural Family Engagement Specialist
I’m your local National Child Passenger Safety Technician instructor. A few office colleagues have asked about how to install car seats, how to put their child in their car seat safely, and some have even asked how to become certified. I’m also deeply connected to the car seat technicians in the state, so any time there are car seat clinics/events being planned, I often know about them before they’re posted. This allows me to refer families there so they can obtain education, and, if needed, a car seat for their littles.
