All News & StoriesChange is woven into the fabric of our lives. Despite this, we can feel deeply stuck in systems that are complex and overwhelming. At least, this is how I felt as a parent of a newborn trying to find and pay for care in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
I was desperate to find safe, affordable infant care that truly honored my family’s unique needs. With the support of our local child care resource & referral agency, we found a program close to our home; however, it was through the Build Learn Grow scholarship that our family was able to access care.
Build Learn Grow was a federally-funded program through the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CCRSA) used to support eligible families with child care tuition.
While my family story is unique to us, I know that others feel its sentiment. I chose to share it because we are grateful for the opportunities that it granted to our family. More than that, I share it because I want to help make a difference and encourage affordable, quality care for all.

Through a grant awarded by Child Care Aware of America, Child Care Answers is showcasing how federal relief funding positively impacted child care programs, families, and the community.
