The Impact of Your Story

Child Care Answers
January 4, 2024

Change is woven into the fabric of our lives. Despite this, we can feel deeply stuck in systems that are complex and overwhelming. At least, this is how I felt as a parent of a newborn trying to find and pay for care in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

I was desperate to find safe, affordable infant care that truly honored my family’s unique needs. With the support of our local child care resource & referral agency, we found a program close to our home; however, it was through the Build Learn Grow scholarship that our family was able to access care.

Build Learn Grow was a federally-funded program through the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CCRSA) used to support eligible families with child care tuition.

While my family story is unique to us, I know that others feel its sentiment. I chose to share it because we are grateful for the opportunities that it granted to our family. More than that, I share it because I want to help make a difference and encourage affordable, quality care for all.

Did your family use the Build Learn Grow scholarship?

Sharing your story can inspire change. Through a grant awarded by Child Care Aware of America, Child Care Answers is showcasing how federal relief funding positively impacted child care programs, families, and the community. Using stories like mine and yours, we will share them with Indiana’s senators and representatives with the hope to promote future child care funding opportunities.

A call to action.

Share your story and record a brief video in the comfort of your home! We are excited to hear and share how the Build Learn Grow scholarship positively impacted your family.
