On My Way Pre-K (OMWPK)

Family
Care & Education Options Financial Assistance & Scholarships

What is On My Way Pre-K (OMWPK) ?

OMWPK provides grants for four-year-olds from low-income families, so they may have access to high-quality Pre-K programs the year before they begin kindergarten. The program is flexible and is built around the needs of families, offering options for full-day or partial-day programs. To participate in the program, your child must turn four years old by August 1st of the upcoming school year in order to qualify.

Connecting with your local intake office

Firefly (formerly named Children’s Bureau) serves as the intake agency for central Indiana for both CCDF vouchers and On My Way Pre-K (OMWPK). Families in Hamilton, Hendricks, and Marion Counties can contact Firefly through a number of ways:

  • Call 317-545-5281. Note: Marion County residents may also call 2-1-1.
  • Email ccdfvouchers@fireflyin.org.
  • Visit Firefly’s CCDF office at Fay Biccard Glick Family Place, 3801 N. Temple Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46205

Each county is assigned their own contact. To find yours, or if you are outside of central Indiana, check the statewide CCDF Eligibility Office map.

Navigating the Waitlist

If you pre-qualify, you will be put on the waitlist. You will be contacted when your name has been “pulled” and you are eligible to complete the process. Since OMWPK operates on a school year schedule, families are typically contacted in the summer for an August start date. Once your name has been pulled from the waitlist, you will be contacted by Firefly (by phone, email, text, and/or mail) with more information regarding next steps.

To check your status, click the below button to contact Firefly. Include your full name and the full name(s) of your child(ren) so they can quickly find your information in their system.
